Rincon de la Victoria combines the feel of a popular suburban cosmopolitan town on the outskirts of Malaga as well as a holiday resort with beautiful beaches, bars and restaurants situated just 12 kilometres on the coast road east of Malaga. Popular with residents who work in Malaga city, but who also prefer the atmosphere of a fishing oriented coastal resort. As a result of this attractive combination many “inland” Spanish have chosen this area to have second holiday homes, particularly those from Madrid, Cordoba and Seville.
The municipality also incorporates the neighbouring fishing village of La Cala del Moral and the charming inland village of Benagalbon. In addition the area now offers an increasingly wide selection of new build developments, most with outstanding sea views with the added bonus of being just a short drive to the bright lights of the capital.
One of Rincon de la Victoria´s main attractions is an unusually long and lively promenade, a paradise for cyclists, joggers and walkers. The seafront also boasts a really great variety of tapas bars, with most featuring a wide selection of fresh and locally caught fish. The shrine of the Virgen del Carmen, the town’s patron saint, is embedded in a rock at the western point of the beach. The walk to La Cala includes walks through tunnels, cut out of the cliff face, making this a very scenic part of the coastline.
